Support Engineer
What are we looking for in our support engineer?
As a support engineer, you will be our customers' first point of contact when it comes to technical questions, advice and a host of other queries that come in by e-mail or phone. We don't sell ‘no’ and you feel responsible for the questions and problems customers bring to you. In addition, you are an indispensable link in improving our service. You know exactly what our customers need and help us set the right priorities. We all have one common goal: happy customers.
You can work fast and result-oriented. You come in in the morning and first check the ticket box to see if there are any open questions that need to be dealt with. You get satisfaction from answering all the questions that come in as quickly as possible in the most correct way possible. We don't rattle off, we take all customers (big or small) very seriously. Goal-oriented work and focus is a requirement and we stop when we have finished. It motivates you to get work done so you go home feeling good.
Job Description
This position is multi-part and your duties will mainly consist of the following:
- Helping customers with email and telephone enquiries (both technical and advisory)
- Performing website moves and checking that everything is working properly
- Support system management in maintenance and projects
When you are not busy helping customers, you can support in maintaining, setting up and configuring various components within our infrastructure. To do this well, knowledge of various control panels such as Plesk, DirectAdmin and cPanel is not directly a requirement but is going to help you tremendously. You know your way around WordPress and can quickly detect and fix error messages. It would be nice if you have worked in or with Linux, CloudLinux and/or LiteSpeed webserver, but this is certainly not a requirement.
Above all, you are eager to learn, constantly keep abreast of new technological developments and make suggestions to improve the product range based on regularly recurring customer queries. In doing so, you help us keep the range up to date.
Since, in addition to answering questions, you will also contribute to a customer's technical design, you need to have a commercial and analytical mindset. You have language skills and great empathy. Your command of both Dutch and English is good to excellent. You take a lot of initiative and have a lot of responsibility. Because we are a small team, we rely heavily on you as an individual and you have a lot of influence on the company's success.
What do we ask?
- Minimum MBO/HBO working and thinking level
- One year of work experience
- Familiar with Plesk, DirectAdmin and/or cPanel
- Familiar with underlying techniques such as DNS, FTP, firewall and spam filters
- Knowledge of CMS systems such as Wordpress, Joomla and Drupal
- Knowledge of scripting languages and MySQL is an advantage
- Good command of the Dutch and English language, both written and spoken
- You are flexible, enthusiastic, stress-resistant and proactive
